About
The grouper is a large, stout fish with a very wide mouth. Instead of biting pieces off its prey, it tends to just swallow it and crush it with heavy tooth plates in its pharynx. They normally feed on smaller fish, octopuses, and crustaceans. There also unconfirmed reports of fatal attacks on humans by the largest species, the giant grouper.
